PROCESSUAL PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS AS REFLECTION OF JULIAN BARNES’ AUTHORS DISCOURSE

Olga Yarygina, Russia, ID CLEaR2016-361;         Julian Barnes is one of the outstanding and prolific English writers. The present study focuses on the investigation of processual phraseological units in literary discourse. It is namely aimed at interpreting the author’s code of Julian Barnes by means of decoding processual phraseological units used in the writer’s novels. While analising the realization of phraseological units’ semantics within the context of literary works, we used the method of contextual analysis. The results obtained can be applied at English classes on Foreign Literature, for writing papers on Cognitive Linguistics, Literary and Translation studies.
