Teaching English to young learners through play-like activities

Language education nowadays starts at relatively young age. Children start to learn second language in kindergartens or nurseries. During the preschool and early school period, humans are capable of acquiring more information as the brain grows rapidly in the early years. Preschool children are capable of copying sounds of foreign language more easily and accurately. The methodology of teaching a foreign language to kids is closely connected with pedagogy of play. Exercises should most certainly revolve around everyday situations and combine different learning styles. The article aims at discussing methods and effective exercises for teaching a second language to children under ten. It also analyses the advantages and disadvantages of using state-of-the-art equipment such as interactive whiteboards.
