Story as a Vehicle (workshop)

Stories form an inseparable part of people´s life since their early childhood. There is no doubt about the significance of reading and listening to stories in the mother tongue. In relation to foreign language teaching and learning, many teachers are also aware of the benefits of using stories in the foreign language education. In this paper, the focus is on the use of stories as a material for the development and practice of individual foreign language skills, as well as a means of the linguistic, cognitive and affective development of the foreign language learners. Stories will be thus looked upon as a useful source material and medium for various classroom activities.
